LEST WE FORGET 139 EDWARDS, Keith WWII Keith Edwards, son of Joe and Hannah Edwards of Elrose, Saskatchewan, enlisted in the Canadian Army and served overseas in Europe during World War II. After his discharge from the Army, he worked in Elrose as an electrician for a time before moving to make his home in Vancouver, British Columbia. EDWARDS, Walter A. “Wally” WWII Wally was born in North Battleford on September 21, 1915. He joined the 1st Battalion of the Regina Rifles Regiment. He received the 1939-1945 Star, the Croix de Guerre (France) with Bronze Star, the Netherlands Bronze Cross Swords, the Defence Medal, the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal, the War Medal 1939-1945, and the Military Efficiency Service Medal.Wally passed away in 1980 after a long battle with cancer. EDWARDS, Lawrence A. Lawrence Edwards, of Elrose, Saskatchewan, enlisted in the Royal Canadian Reserves in 1961. He was stationed in London, Ontario for six months, at Camp Ipperwash, Ontario for six months and in Soest, Germany for three years. He received an honourable release in 1965. Lawrence still resides in Elrose and remains an active member of The Royal Canadian Legion Elrose Branch 206.
