LEST WE FORGET 121 DAW, Fred WWII Fred enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy in 1941 and trained as a stoker at Pictou, Nova Scotia. He served in Halifax, Nova Scotia Naval Base, then was transferred to Quebec City, Quebec as a heading stoker and did the duties as a Fuel Officer in 1944-1945. Fred married Lois in 1948 and together they had three sons: James, Brian, and Stephen. He worked for General Motors, Oshawa as a Tool Maker and was active in the Church, Horticulture Society and the community. DAYMAN, Chester Allen WWII Chester Allen Dayman was born in Outlook on January 21, 1917. His parents were Charles Arnold and Elizabeth Maude (Rennick) Dayman. During World War II, Allen served in the Signal Corps. After the war, he drove a dance band to various countries in Europe before returning home. He married Sheila Fraser and they had two sons. Allen worked for BC Tel (now Telus) for 33 years. A lifelong member of The Royal Canadian Legion, Allen Dayman passed away on September 3, 1991 in Nelson, British Columbia. DAWSON, Charles WWII Private Charles Dawson served overseas with the South Saskatchewan Regiment, Royal Canadian Infantry Corps. He was killed during training on May 6, 1943 by the accidental discharge of a rifle during a field firing exercise. He was 23 years old. Charles is buried at Brookwood Cemetery in Surrey, England.
