LEST WE FORGET 117 CULLENDER, John John Cullender served in the United States Air Force. DAHL, Harold WWII Harold was one of ten children born to Alex and Mary (Hallet) Dahl. He formed his own orchestra called the “Happy Harvesters” and later played weekly on the radio called Chip Dahl and his C.K.B.I. Ramblers. He enlisted, as did his other four brothers, with the 44th Battery in Prince Albert and served in Canada and overseas during World War II. At the end of the war, Harold came back to Canada and spent three months in a Winnipeg hospital with an arm injury incurred when thrown from a vehicle while in the service. He returned to Prince Albert and opened his own barbershop. He married Alice Berdan and had two daughters. Harold passed away in 1972. CUMISKY, Mathew WWII Mathew Cumisky, son of William and Lillian Cumisky, came from Lintlaw, Saskatchewan with his family to the Wartime District in 1925. His father was employed in Wartime as a telephone operator until 1930. Mathew enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force and was stationed at McClaud.
