LEST WE FORGET 51 ANTONIO, Johnny KOREANWAR Johnny was born in Hazel Dell, Saskatchewan, on July 4, 1928. He served in the Army during the Korean War. Johnny passed away on November 24, 1995. ARGUE, William Alvin WWI William was born in Richmond, Ontario, in 1896 and lived on a farm near Stittville, Ontario, until 1910 when his family moved to Rouleau, SK. He joined the Canadian Army in December of 1915, training as a signaller with the 5th Battalion, serving until 1919 in England, France, Belgium and Germany. He was discharged in 1919 and then farmed from 1919 to 1929 in Tilney, SK, and from 1930 to 1967 in Rouleau-Weilcox, SK. He was a Legion member from 1925 to 1991 with the Rouleau Branch 44. William passed away in April 1992. APLAND, Jake A. WWII Jake was born in the Spry Hill district of Saskatchewan in 1909. He enlisted with the Royal Canadian Ordnance Corps in June 1942 and saw active duty in Italy, Belgium, France, the UK and Germany. He was discharged in December 1945 and married Esther that year. They raised three children. After the war, he was a grain buyer for the Federal Grain Company for ten years. He was promoted to superintendent in 1956 and transferred to Yorkton, SK. He stayed there until Federal sold out in 1956 and then went to work for a car dealership and stayed there until his retirement. He received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp, the Defence Medal, the France and Germany Star, the War Medal 1939-1945 and the Italy Star. Jake passed away on March 20, 1981.
