LEST WE FORGET 45 ABTOSWAY, William Frederick WWII William was born in 1924 in Foam Lake, Saskatchewan. He enlisted with the Army and served with the 12th District Depot in Canada. He received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp. William was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Foam Lake Branch before he passed away in 1988. ADAIR, William Rosce WWII William was born on September 22, 1901 in Grand Forks, North Dakota, USA, and moved to the Canwood area in 1919, and homesteaded in the Stump Lake area in 1927. He joined the Army in 1940 and trained in Regina, SK, and Guelph, ON. He spent two years overseas, where he got hurt and was sent home, and was discharged in 1944. He bought two quarters of land through the Veterans Land and farmed until 1956, when he moved to Prince Albert, SK. He passed away in Saskatoon on November 1, 1986 and is buried in the Legion Plot of the Canwood North Cemetery. He belonged to the Canwood Legion for fifteen years. ABTOSWAY, Wilson A. WWII Wilson was born in 1915 in Foam Lake, Saskatchewan. He enlisted with the Army and served with the 16/22 Saskatchewan Horse Regiment in North Africa, Italy and Canada. He was injured in a tank explosion and spent a month in hospital in Italy. He received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp and the Italy Star.Wilson was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Hanley Branch for 37 years before he passed away in 2005.
