LEST WE FORGET 363 WEEKS, Roy KOREANWAR Roy was born in Yorkton, Saskatchewan, in 1931. He enlisted in the Army in Yorkton on October 13, 1949 and discharged on December 13, 1955. He was married and had three children, two girls and a boy. He worked in Regina for many years before passing away in 1990 at age 59 from a brief illness. He is laid to rest in Riverside Memorial Gardens Soldiers’ Plot. He received the Korea War Medal and the United Nations Medal. WENTZELL, Glenn Cowling WWII Glenn was born on December 4, 1912. He enlisted in 1940 in the South Saskatchewan Regiment in Weyburn and received training there and at Shilo, Manitoba. He received his orders to ship to England and on December 26, 1940, he arrived in England. After more training there he was a participant in the Dieppe Raid, landing near the village of Pourville. After the Dieppe Raid, Glenn remustered into the Saskatoon Light Infantry. He was a bren gun carrier driver and saw duty in North Africa and Italy. Glenn passed away on April 20, 1987. WELFORD, William H. WWII William was born in 1922 in Lilac, Saskatchewan. He enlisted with the Army in 1942 in Regina. He served in Canada and the United Kingdom and returned home to his farm in Lilac on February 2, 1946. He married in 1949 and remained on his farm. William passed away in 1988.
