LEST WE FORGET 335 SCHROH, Gregory Dean SPEACIAL DUTY AREA Gregory was born in Kerrobert, Saskatchewan, in 1960. Corporal Schroh GD served from 1983 to 1987 at CFB Calgary with Lord Strathcona Horse Royal Canadian as LdSH (RC) as Crewman. Then from 1987 to 1992 at CFB Ottawa with the 411 Royal Canadian Electrical Mechanical Engineer, and he served at CFB Petawawa from 1992 to 1997. Gregory was medically released due to a severe knee injury. He is a member of The Royal Canadian Legion. SEALY, Aubrey George WWI Aubrey was born in Chippenham, County Wiltshire, England, on January 17, 1872 to parents Horatio and Annie Hall Sealy. He homesteaded in the Bratton area along with his brother, John Alexander Sealy, who was also a World War I Veteran, around 1906. He worked as a Postmaster, carpenter and farmhand in the Bratton area before he enlisted at age 43 in Moose Jaw on February 28, 1916. He was a widower with three children at the time. Prior to enlistment in Canada, George had served six years with the Royal Engineers in England. He served 23 months in France with the 50th Battalion Canadian Infantry where he was hospitalized at Havre with severe bronchitis and rheumatism as a result of long periods of standing in the trenches. Aubrey was discharged in Regina on March 12, 1919. After the war, he was appointed to the Soldier Settlement Board and worked in Foam Lake and Kindersley where he passed away in 1937. SCOTT, Donald John WWII Donald was born in 1919 in Cupar, Saskatchewan, to parents Elmo and Olive Scott. He attended schools at Loon Creek and Cupar. He joined the Army through the COTC at the University of Saskatchewan in 1939. He got his commission and trained with the South Saskatchewan Regiment. In England, he transferred to the 8th RECCE Regiment, 14th Canadian Hussars. The regiment went to Normandy, France in July 1944. Donald was killed in action on August 8, 1944 just south of Caen, France. He had attained the rank of Major. He is buried in Bretteville-sur-Laize Canadian War Cemetery in Normandy, France. He was 25 years old.
