LEST WE FORGET 329 SAMENOOK, Allen Robert AFGHANISTAN & SPECIAL DUTY AREA Allen was born in Estevan, Saskatchewan, on April 30, 1959. He enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces from 1977 to 1996 as an Air Frame and Aviation Helicopter Technician including a deployment to Central America with the United Nations in 1989-1990. Since 2006, he continues to serve with the Royal Canadian Air Force at home, and Afghanistan in 2010 to 2011, with the Canadian Helicopter Force Afghanistan. He received the Canadian Peacekeeping Service Medal, UN Medal Central America, Canadian Forces’ Decoration 1 and the Afghanistan Campaign Star. SAMENOOK, Harry (Senior) WWII Harry was born in Estevan, Saskatchewan, in 1921. He enlisted in the Army and served in England and Holland with the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps during the Second World War. He received the Volunteer Medal, the Overseas Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. Harry passed away in 2001. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Bienfait and Estevan Branches. SAMENOOK, Anthony “Tony” WWII Tony was born in Estevan, Saskatchewan, in 1916. He enlisted in the Army and served with the Royal Canadian Service Corps in England primarily driving trucks for the RCASC ferrying personnel and supplies of all sorts during the Second World War. He received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal, Overseas Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. Tony passed away in 2008. He had been a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Estevan Branch 60 for sixty years.
