LEST WE FORGET 317 REDDEN, Ernest Edward WWI Ernest was born on May 14, 1884 in Ernestown Township, Ontario. He moved to Saskatchewan to homestead in 1909. He enlisted with the Army during the First World War and served with the 60th Battalion in France. After the war, he farmed for a few years and then operated a hardware store in Wiseton. He was Vice-Grand of the local Off Fellows Lodge and a member of the Masonic Lodge. Ernest passed away on January 9, 1933 and is buried in Cataraqui Cemetery in Kingston, Ontario. REGIMBAL, Wilfred Henry WWII Wilfred was born on August 27, 1916 in Lafleche, Saskatchewan. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in June 1941 and instructed at No. 15 EFTS in Regina before going overseas.Wilfred and a crew comprised of four Canadians and one British airman were reported missing after an aerial combat on November 22, 1944. On March 10, 1945, official word was received by his family that the aircraft had crashed in the Monschau Forest near Rocherath, Belgium. The crew was buried at Rheinberg, Germany. Regimbal Bay is named in his honour. REGIMBAL, Alfred Emile WWII Alfred was born on June 15, 1918 in Lafleche, Saskatchewan. He enlisted with the RCAF in 1940 and trained as a pilot at Trenton, ON. After his training he was stationed in Calgary, Alberta, as an instructor. While flying on a training mission over Cochrane, AB, with an American student pilot, Leading Aircraftsman Quentin Burl Chase of Wichita, Kansas, their plane struck an unmarked cable across the Bow River and crashed, killing both airmen. Alfred is buried in Lafleche. A cairn was erected in their memory on the old Banff Highway, 28 miles west of Calgary, adjacent to the site of the accident.
