LEST WE FORGET 237 LITTLECROW, Lorne WWII Lorne was born on Moose Woods Reserve in 1922. He enlisted in the Army in June 1943 and served during the Second World War with the Regina Rifles in the United Kingdom and Continental Europe in the liberation of France, Belgium and Holland until his Honourable Discharge in July 1946. He was awarded the 1939-1945 Star, France and Germany Star and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp. Lorne passed away on December 28, 1988 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. He was a member of the Army, Navy and Air Force Veterans Club in Saskatoon Branch 38 for ten years. LONGHURST, William Sydney WWI William was born in Granby, Quebec, on July 25, 1883. His father was an Arch Deacon in the Church of England. William was living in Broderick, Saskatchewan, and working as a farmer when he enlisted in Regina on June 10, 1918 with the Saskatchewan Regiment, 1st Depot Battalion. Private William Sydney Longhurst’s military career was abruptly cut short when he was diagnosed with nephritis and received discharge papers on June 21, 1918. William passed away on November 25, 1918 and is buried in the Outlook Cemetery. He was married to Constance Ragna Longhurst. LOCKHART, Grant Aaron WWI &WWII Grant was born in 1896 in Northampton County, New Brunswick. He enlisted with the Army in the First World War and served with the RCR’s in France. He moved to Green Lake, Saskatchewan, in 1924 and resided there until 1940. He joined the Canadian Army in Saskatoon and served in Canada during the Second World War. Grant passed away in 1973.
