LEST WE FORGET 235 LENNOX, John D. WWII John was born in 1904 in Toronto, Ontario. He joined the Royal Canadian Service Corps in December 1941. He reported to the base in Regina in January 1942 and trained for a little while before being transferred to Camp Borden for basic training. He was sent overseas and served in England until January 1943. He was then sent to Scotland where he took a Motor Mechanics course; he then returned to England and worked in the post office until returning to Canada in February 1945. He received his discharge on March 28, 1945. John passed away on January 9, 1962. LITTLECROW, Harold WWII Harold was born in Moose Woods Reserve in 1918. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Engineers in January 1941 and served in Britain for a time before taking part in the invasion of Normandy during the Second World War. Harold was killed in action in France on July 26, 1944 at the age of 26. A memorial service was held at the Moose Woods Reserve schoolhouse where a large group assembled to remember a young man who was very well respected. LINDER, John “Jack” WWII Jack was born in 1921 in Wawota, Saskatchewan, where he took his schooling. He joined the Army in 1940 and went overseas with the Regina Rifle Regiment. Jack was killed by a sniper’s bullet on September 25, 1944. He is buried in the Calais Southern cemetery in Calais, France. Linder Lake in Northern Saskatchewan is named in his memory.
