LEST WE FORGET 177 HARDY, Joseph Alexander WWII Joseph was born in St. Leonard, Quebec, on February 11, 1904 to John Baptiste and Angelina Hardy. Alex’s military career started on August 4, 1942 when he enlisted as a Leading Seaman Mechanic with the Royal Canadian Navy. He spent his military career at the Cornwallis, Digby and St. John’s naval bases. He was discharged from Military duties in 1945. He returned to his family at Mondou, Saskatchewan, and lived and worked in the area for the rest of his life. He met an untimely death on July 30, 1955. Alex Hardy was buried in the Elrose Cemetery with full Military Honours. HARPER, Alexander Milton WWII Alexander is the son of Jim and Nell Harper who came from Aberdeenshire, Scotland, before the First World War. His father was Reeve of the RM of Cote. He was killed in action on December 20, 1942 and is buried at New Eastern Cemetery, Amsterdam, Netherlands. Milton’s Lancaster was shot down over Duisburg, Germany, but crashed in Amsterdam. He is the brother of A.B. Harper, the boys farmed with their father before enlisting. His geomemorial is Harper Lake, west of Stony Rapids, SK. HARPER, A. B. WWII A. B. He was killed in action on June 23, 1942 and is buried at Sage War cemetery near Oldanbury, Lan Niedersaschen, Germany. Buchan’s Wellington was shot down at Wittmund.
