LEST WE FORGET 147 GARINGER, Victor Clare “Vic” WWII Vic was born on May 30, 1920, at Brooksby, Saskatchewan, to Norman and Luella Garinger. His siblings were: Alfred, Harold, Kenneth Evan, Earl, Norma, Elmer, Helen and Cecil. He enlisted in the Canadian Army on January 10, 1942. Following his training and service in Canada, he embarked overseas in September 1942 where he served with the 2nd Heavy Anti-Aircraft Artillery regiment in the United Kingdom, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. He was discharged on November 10, 1945 with the rank of Lance Bombardier. Vic passed away on May 1, 1990. GARRY, James Joseph WWII James was born on October 5, 1918 in Kincaid, Saskatchewan. He enlisted with the Army on December 28, 1940 in Regina. He served with the 18th Battery, 2nd Anti-Tank Regiment, Royal Canadian Artillery; they were a support regiment for the 2nd Canadian Infantry. He served in France, Belgium, Holland and Germany until his discharge in 1945. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Neville Branch for 39 years. James passed away on December 20, 1994. GARRY, Glen WWII Glen was born in 1916 in Hamilton, Ontario. He enlisted with the Army and served with the #5 Bomber Recon Squadron on Atlantic Patrol. He received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and the Victory Medal for his service. Glen passed away in 2002.
