LEST WE FORGET 145 GARINGER, Earl Daniel WWII Earl was born on February 11, 1922, in Brooksby, Saskatchewan, to Norman and Luella Garinger. His siblings were: Alfred, Harold, Kenneth Evan, Victor, Norma, Elmer, Helen and Cecil. He enlisted in the Canadian Army on November 7, 1941, trained as an infantryman, and in November 1943 was transferred to the Provost Corps. He served in Canada and the United Kingdom. Earl was a qualified motorcyclist. He was discharged with the rank of Lance Corporal on March 22, 1946. Earl passed away on February 24, 1992. GARINGER, Kenneth Evan “Ken” WWII Ken was born on July 4, 1918, on the family farm at Brooksby, Saskatchewan to Norman and Luella Garinger. His siblings were: Alfred, Harold, Victor, Earl, Norma, Elmer, Helen and Cecil. Ken served in the non-permanent active militia from October 9, 1940 until October 24, 1941 when he enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force, where he served for 54 months as service police. He was N.C.O. in charge of various guard houses for four years. He embarked Halifax for the United Kingdom on June 2, 1944, serving in the United Kingdom and Continental Europe for 21 months. He was discharged on April 26, 1946, with the rank of Sergeant. Ken passed away on June 5, 1970. GARINGER, Harold Kitchener WWII Harold was born on June 21, 1917, at Brooksby, Saskatchewan, to Norman and Luella Garinger. His siblings were: Alfred, Kenneth Evan, Victor, Earl, Norma, Elmer, Helen and Cecil. He served under the NRMA from December 12, 1942 to June 26, 1944. He took his basic training at Esquimalt, then served as a Gunner with the 102nd Coast Battery of the 17th North British Columbia Coast Regiment at Prince Rupert until June 1944 when he enlisted in the Canadian Army (Active) and served in the Provost Corps in Canada until his discharge as a Private on March 26, 1946. Harold passed away on November 26, 1989.
