LEST WE FORGET 127 DUSYK, Michael WWII Michael was born on November 21, 1919 near Montmartre, Saskatchewan. In March 1940, he joined the RCE. In July 1942, he was transferred to Vancouver, at which time he was promoted to Corporal. In December 1942, he was sent overseas. He arrived in England on March 17, 1943. On February 2, 1944, he left England for Italy with the 14th Field Company RCE and served on the front lines. On September 27, 1944, at the age of 24, Michael died of wounds received while on active duty. He received the 1939-1945 Star, the Italy Star, the Defence Medal, the War Medal 1939-1945 and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp. EGILSSON, Alfred Marino WWII Alfred was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1907. He enlisted in the Army and served with the 4th Armoured Division RCEME. He served during World War II in Holland, Belgium, France and Germany with trade qualification as a Blacksmith. He received the 3rd Red Service Chevron, 1939-1945 Star, France and Germany Star and Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Clasp. He was an MP in Holland after Armistice. Alfred passed away in 2002. DYKUN, J. WWII Sergeant J. Dykun was a member of the 1st Canadian Special Services Battalion, Royal Canadian Infantry Corps. He died on December 6, 1943 at age 23 and is buried in the Cassino War Cemetery in Italy.
