LEST WE FORGET 115 DEWEY, William Joseph WWII William was born on September 18, 1919 inYoung, Saskatchewan. He enlisted in the 21st Field Regiment Canadian Army on April 12, 1943 in Victoria, BC. He served in Canada, the United Kingdom, Continental Europe, and the Central Mediterranean. He was awarded the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp, 1939-1945 Star, Italy Star and the France and Germany Star. He was discharged on December 20, 1945. He joined The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 358 in 1950 and was presented with his Life Membership in 1995. William passed away on July 4, 2006. DICKSON, George Albert WWII George was born on March 27, 1922 in Saskatchewan. He joined the Saskatoon Light Infantry on December 2, 1942. He was a Gunner in the 1st Division. He served in England, Africa, Sicily, Italy, France, Belgium, and Holland, as well as six months occupation in Germany. He was honourably discharged on February 14, 1946. He returned to Wawota and took up farming. He retired and moved into Wawota in 1983. George passed away on June 12, 1999. DICKER, William Frank “Bill” WWII William was born on February 28, 1926 in Yorkton, Saskatchewan. He enlisted in the Navy and served on the HMCS Unicorn and HMCS Uganda. He served during World War II as bridge messenger and on bridge lookout. He was demobilized on August 5, 1946 and took a refrigeration course Veterans Trade School in Winnipeg, MB. He lived in Vancouver, Edmonton and Saskatoon for 51 years, but returned to Yorkton and started his own business. Bill retired in 1998. He married in Vancouver in 1949 and had two boys. Bill is a sixty-year member of The Royal Canadian Legion General Alexander Ross Branch 77 in Yorkton.
