A plan could include the 6ervice 2fficer assisting the veteran to fill out paperwork from Veterans Affairs Canada, the 6ervice 2fficer acTuiring furniture for the veteran donated by local businesses, and the 6ervice 2fficer connecting the veteran to health professionals. +ere are some of our programs that your donations go toward so that veterans receive the care, benefits and support that is the mandate of the Legion. /HDYH WKH 6WUHHWV %HKLQG ,n , the intention of the Royal Canadian Legion in the creation of the Leave the 6treets %ehind program was, and still is, to build partnerships with community resources, while connecting veterans with Veteran’s Affairs Canada and any available benefit that our veterans Tualify for. 2ur mission is to ensure that every veteran who is homeless or near homeless has the help they need through programs like Leave the 6treets %ehind. 'LVFRYHULQJ WKH 3RZHU LQ 0H This program was designed to counsel our veterans with 3ost Traumatic 6tress ,nMury 3T6, by helping to create a future of strength and hope for a bright way ahead and to assist them in regaining control of their lives and the lives of their family and friends. :e have reached many veterans through our annual seminars. At each seminar, appro[imately veterans can benefit from the presentations and connect with other veterans who are e[periencing the same issues. 3$:6 IRU 9HWHUDQV – This program matches 6ervice 'ogs to Tualifying veterans suffering from operational stress inMuries such as an[iety, depression and 3ost Traumatic 6tress ,nMury. 3A:6 for Veterans has a double mission to raise much needed public awareness about 6ervice 'ogs in society, and to raise funds to enable the Legion to provide 6ervice 'ogs to 6askatchewan Veterans.
