The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 65 BUNDY, Cyril Edgar WWI Cyril was born in Essex, England on June 21, 1895. Working as a Drug Clerk in Lumsden, Saskatchewan, he enlisted in the Army in Regina on July 13, 1915. He served with the 10th Royal Fusiliers and 5th Battalion during the First World War. In December 1915, he was appointed Sgt. He lost his life at Arleux-en-Gohelle, France on April 28, 1917 and is commemorated on the Vimy Memorial. BURNESS, David WWII David was born in Alameda, Saskatchewan on March 30, 1915 to James and Margaret (Munro), who died four days after David’s birth. He spent his childhood and early adult years in Alameda. After graduating, he decided to become a teacher and attended Regina Normal School. He was a teacher at several of the country schools in the district and also helped at Church Vacation School. David was a veteran of the Second World War and served overseas as a clerk in the supply depot. He married Ema Robstad on July 1, 1948 in his hometown. He later taught school at Outlook, Estevan. He retired early due to ill health. David passed away on July 15, 1978 at the age of 63. BURNESS, George WWI George was born on September 14, 1895 to James and Margaret (Munro) in West Cairnbeg, Fordoun, Scotland. He is a veteran of the First World War. On his return from overseas he was employed by Canadian National Railway in Winnipeg. He married Katherine Mary Tressler in Winnipeg on November 19, 1922 and they had one daughter, Geraldine Heeney. George passed away in 1981.
