The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 61 BRICK, Alexander WWI Alexander served with the 5th Battalion in the First World War. During the attack made by his Battalion on Vimy Ridge on the morning of April 9, 1917, Private Alexander Brick was wounded in the stomach. He was evacuated to No. 13 General Hospital in Boulogne. He succumbed to his wounds a few days later, on April 12, 1917. He is buried in Boulogne Easter Cemetery in France. BRIERE, Arthur Alexander Arthur was born in Meyronne on October 24, 1916. He served in the Canadian Forces during his life and reached the rank of Corporal. He worked as a carpenter otherwise. Arthur passed away on September 30, 1976 and is buried at the Regina Beach Cemetery. BROWN, David Barclay WWI David was born in Orangeville, Ontario on May 13, 1895. He enlisted in the Army in Regina on December 19, 1914 and listed his occupation as farmer. He served with the 3rd Battalion during the First World War. Private Brown was part of a bombing party whom held their trenches from 04:00 until 15:00 on October 8, 1916. He was one of the two men that were the last to leave the trench. Unfortunately he was struck with a round upon retreat, killing him in Courcelette, France. He was recommended for a Victoria Cross and is commemorated on the Vimy Ridge Memorial.
