The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 49 BIBERDORF, Adolf WWI Adolf was born in November 1895 in Ukraine, Russia. He fought in the First World War in Russia. In 1924, he married Meta and lived there for four years. In 1928, they moved to Canada from Ukraine, Russia and arrived in Frobisher in the month of May. When they arrived, they could speak very little English but picked it up fairly quickly. He moved to a farm south of Alameda with Adolf’s brother Henry and while there, twin girls were born though one died at birth. They moved back to a farm south of Frobisher and their son Henry was born. The children attended South Frobisher School. The land was very stony so they decided to move and spend 25 happy years in their home with their family. Adolf passed away in 1983. BINDER, Anthony WWI Anthony was born in 1886 in Biled, Hungary to Nicholas and Kristina Binder. He enlisted in the Army and served with the 10th Battalion, Canadian Engineers in the First World War. During operations on September 7, he was eating supper with the other men of his section around a wagon. The area was being shelled by enemy and a high explosive shell hit the wagon, severely wounding Driver Anthony Binder in the head, right arm and lung. He was immediately evacuated to a Field Ambulance and later to No. 4 Casualty Clearing Station but succumbed to his wounds the following day, September 8, 1918 at 31 years of age. Anthony is buried in the Duisans British Cemetery. BINKS, Mark WWI Mark was born in Hunslet, Leeds, Yorkshire, England on April 1, 1880. He enlisted in the Army on February 29, 1916 in Estevan, Saskatchewan. He served with the 28th Battalion CEF in France during the First World War. Mark was killed in action on May 6, 1917. Mark lived in Frobisher prior to service.
