The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 43 BARKER, Cort Curtis PEACETIME Cort was born in Estevan, Saskatchewan on June 19, 1979 to Curtis Garfield and Deborah Elizabeth (Hartley). He has a brother named Brett Richardson. Cort has served in the military as a Peacekeeper at Camp Maple Leaf in Bosnia from January 2000 to August 2000 and January 2002 to August 2003. He is stationed in Edmonton and has received two Peacekeeping Medals. He was awarded the Former Yugoslavia NATO, Non Article 5 NATO and Volunteer Peacekeeper. He is with the Strathcona Regiment. In February 2005, he married his high school sweetheart Staci Suchan and they have three children, Corbin, Mia and Aubrey and they live in Estevan. Cort has been a member of Estevan Legion Branch 60 for six years and is the Sergeant-at-Arms. BEARD, Leslie J. WWII Leslie was born in 1918 in Nut Mountain. Leslie enlisted in the Air Force and served in Canada and in England during the Second World War. Leslie has been a member of Legion Branch 19 for seventy years. BEEDLE, Allan WWII Allan was born in Moose Jaw in 1923. He enlisted in the Air Force and served in aircraft maintenance and air crew navigation in Canada during the Second World War. He took his discharge in 1945. He moved to British Columbia and logged with his father and younger brothers in the seventies. He took a steam engineering course and was near the top of his class. Allan passed away in 2007.
