The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 399 WALKER (BRADBURN), Dorothy Dorothy was the eldest daughter of James and Mary Ellen Bradburn (Fidis). Her home was Southport, England. At age 5 or 6, she remained in England to attend school, in care of a paternal aunt. Her father, mother and one-year-old twin brothers in Lima Peru apparently perished from yellow fever, a disease carried by mosquitos. Dorothy married World War I solidier Andrew (Andy) Walker in England in April 1917; Dorothy was 22 and Andrew was 29 years old. Coming from England to a cold, isolated Saskatchewan farm life was a radical change for Dorothy. She and Andrew raised three daughters. She belonged to two competing ladies clubs – the Stanleyville Homemakers and the Russellville Ladies Aid. Dorothy passed away at home on Saturday March 19, 1949 at 54 years of age. WALLACE, Isabelle Isabelle was born in Scotland and went to Frobisher, SK as a War Bride in 1919. She married James Wallace and they had one son on August 17, 1920 but their son, Robbie, passed away on August 22, 1925. Isabelle was a member of council and overseer of the village of Frobisher. After her husband died, Isabelle returned to Scotland in 1954. She often spoke of her time in Canada, where she left her husband and son buried in Frobisher Cemetery. Isabelle passed away on October 19, 1989 at102 years of age. WHITING (MURRAY), Jessie Jessie was born in Wales, United Kingdom. She was brought to Canada by her aunt, May Logie, who came to live with her brother, William Murray, in May 1903. Jessie was one of ten children - four boys and six girls. She married Harry Whiting, who served in the Army, on December 25, 1914 in Frobisher, Saskatchewan.
