The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 369 WEED, David WWII David was born in May of 1918 in the Arborfield area. He enlisted with the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers on July 16, 1941 and served as a Radio Mechanic in Canada, England, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany until his discharge on January 22, 1946. After the war, he moved to Vernon, British Columbia and was married. He and his wife raised two sons. David passed away on August 28, 1995. WEED, Gordon WWII Gordon was born on September 18, 1919 in the Arborfield area. He enlisted with the Army 2nd D Canadian Signal Corps on August 21, 1941. He was then transferred to 2nd Division Signal Corps then onto the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers as a driver and served in Canada, England, Holland, and Germany until his discharge on April 7, 1946. He was married while serving overseas. He and his wife lived on his father’s farm before moving to their own land in the Moose Range area. Gordon passed away on November 23, 2004. WEEKS, Roy KOREAN WAR Roy was born in Yorkton, Saskatchewan in 1931. He enlisted in the Army in Yorkton on October 13, 1949. Roy was discharged on December 13, 1955. He was married and had three children, two girls and a boy. He worked in Regina for many years before passing away in 1990 at age 59 from a brief illness. He is laid to rest in Riverside Memorial Gardens Soldiers Plot. He received the Korea Medal and the United Nations Medal.
