He enlisted with the Royal Canadian Artillery and served in Canada and England. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Big River Branch 136 for 23 years. Richard passed away in February of 1969. WARRINER, Thomas A. J. WWII Thomas was born in June of 1912 in Yorkshire, England. He enlisted with the Saskatoon Light Infantry M.G. in September of 1939 and served in Canada, England, Italy, and Europe until his discharge in April of 1945. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Big River Branch 136 for 51 years. Thomas passed away in January of 2001. WARWICK, Claude WWII Claude was born in Saskatchewan Beach, Saskatchewan on October 22, 1922. His boxing career started at the age of fourteen, but he was also active in hockey and football. In provincial boxing, Claude was Saskatchewan champion in 1939 as flyweight, in 1940 as a bantamweight, and in 1941 as a featherweight. He also won the Canadian Golden Gloves Championship in 1940 as a lightweight. Claude was the Canadian Featherweight Champion in 1941 and ended his 51bout career with a record of fifty wins and one draw. Claude served with the Royal Canadian Naval Volunteer Reserve as an Able Seaman with HMCS Donnacona. He was fatally injured in service in a bus/train collision at Sydney, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia and died in the Navy hospital there.
