The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 363 WAREING, Lude WWII Lude was born in Regina, Saskatchewan on October 19, 1915. He played hockey for the New York Rovers and the Philadelphia Ramblers from 1936 to 1941. He then enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force and served during the Second World War. Lude passed away on June 28, 2002. WARHURST, Jack WWII Jack was born in 1906 in England. He moved to Canada in 1927 and worked in sawmills and for farmers. In 1933, he took up a homestead in the Arborfield area. He enlisted with the Canadian Merchant Navy and served aboard the CQS Alberni, was then transferred to S.S. Brocton and then the S.S. Moose Mountain Park. He received a back injury when a submarine chased the ship on the way to the West Indies. He received his discharge in May of 1946. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Arborfield Legion Branch 203. Jack passed away in 1984. WARRINER (JENNINGS), Eleanor WWI Eleanor was born in June of 1880 in Yorkshire, England. She was a nurse and served with the British Voluntary Aid Detachment in Yorkshire, England. She nursed wounded soldiers from the front back to health. She received the King’s Medal for good service under extenuating circumstances. Eleanor passed away in January of 1966.
