He was awarded a reeyed caterpillar indicating he bailed out of a burning plane. He also received a DFC. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Abernethy Branch 26 for sixty years. Russel passed away in 2002. THOMPSON, Samuel Angus McCallum WWII Samuel was born in 1919 in Coronach, SK. He enlisted with the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1941 and served in Canada until his discharge in 1945 as an aero-engine mechanic. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Coronach Branch 268 for 51 years. Samuel passed away in 2007. THOMPSON, Thomas R. WWII Thomas was born in 1920. He joined the Canadian Army during the Second World War. He served for four years in England, France, and Germany. He was awarded the Military Medal. Thomas passed away in 1989.
