He served with the King’s Own Rifles in Canada until his discharge on July 7th, 1944 with the rank of Corporal. He enlisted with the Royal Canadian Air Force on April 2, 1954 and served as aircraftsman electrical technician until his discharge in April of 1957. John is deceased. STEELE, George Wallace WWII George was born in 1906 in Whitewood, SK. He joined the Canadian Army Active in 1941 and served with the 44th Field Battery, 3rd Division, 13th Regiment in England and Holland. In 1945, George was wounded and died as a result of his injuries. STEELE, James Harry WWI James was born in 1897 in Whitewood, SK. He joined the Army during the First World War. He served in England and Europe until he was wounded. James was sent back to England, where he died as a result of his wounds in 1918 at the age of 21.
