The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 275 SAMENOOK, Harry (Senior) WWII Harry was born in Estevan, Saskatchewan in 1921. He enlisted in the Army and served in England and Holland with the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps during the Second World War. He received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal, the Overseas Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. Harry passed away in 2001. He was a member of The Legion in Bienfait/Estevan. SAMS, Herb WWII Herb was born in 1912. He married Susan in 1928 and they lived in several different places south until 1937 when they bought land across from Girwood School and finally moved there in 1938. He enlisted with the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps on January 8, 1942 and served in Canada until his discharge in May of 1946. Herb and Susan raised six children. The family moved to Drayton Valley for a while but went back to farm until the spring of 1975. The family later moved to Tisdale, SK. Herb passed away in 1979. SANDBERG, Earl WWII Earl was born in 1922 in Sheho, SK. He enlisted with the Armed Forces during the Second World War. He served in Canada and in Continental Europe until his discharge. He returned to Canada and married Erna Molson and they raised a family of four daughters. They operated a taxi business for a number of years and later Earl drove large transport trucks in Canada and the US. Earl passed away in February of 1984.
