The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 257 REYNOLDS, Joseph WWII Joseph enlisted in the Canadian Army with the Royal Canadian Ordnance Corps in September of 1940. He served for five years until his discharge in September of 1945 with the rank of Private. He received shrapnel in his neck, legs and foot, the shrapnel was removed from his neck but not his legs and foot. He married Rose and they raised three daughters. Joe passed away in 1969. RICHARDSON, George Clough WWII George was born in Saskatchewan on December 5, 1916. He enlisted as a Private in the Canadian Army on January 5, 1940 and shipped overseas with the 1st Canadian Division on January 24. George served in England, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany during the Second World War. He commanded a Forward Maintenance Ammunition Section, Royal Canadian Ordnance Corps, under difficult conditions and received an MBE at Buckingham Palace on June 29, 1945 for his “Gallantry and Distinguished Service in North-West Europe”. He was also awarded the 1939-1945 Star, France and Germany Star, the Defence Medal and Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Clasp. George returned to Canada with a rank of Captain in 1945. He was a long-time member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 108 in Semans, SK. George passed away in Saskatoon on June 26, 2000. RICHARDSON, Jim Jr. “Jas” PEACETIME Jim Jr. was born in Frobisher, Saskatchewan in 1950 to Jim and Irma Hannah. His siblings were Ann and Marvin. He served in the Navy during Peacetime. Jim is married to Ellen, is retired from the Navy and resides in Jeddore Oyster Pond, Nova Scotia. They have two girls, Andrea and Amy.
