The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 249 REED, James Whitby WWII James was born in Springdale, Saskatchewan in 1913. He enlisted in the Army in the fall of 1940 and spent five years in the service, four years were spent overseas in England, Belgium and Holland during the Second World War. He learned a trade as a blacksmith. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion in Rose Valley. James passed away in 1999 and is buried in the Rose Valley Cemetery in Rose Valley, SK. REICHEL, Ronald WWII Ronald was born in 1921. He enlisted with the Royal Canadian Artillery, Military Police and served in Maple Creek, Regina and Winnipeg until his discharge in 1943. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 230 in Ridgeway, ON for 34 years. Ronald passed away in 1987. REID, Allan Roy WWII Allan was born on January 31, 1921 in Swift Current, SK. He enlisted with the Army on January 4, 1943 and took his basic training at Camrose and Chilliwack, British Columbia. He served with the Royal Canadian Engineers in England, France, Belgium, Holland, and Germany. When the war ended, being a journeyman plumber in Canada, he continued his trade in the army, setting up water points and laying temporary bridges with pontoons for the troops coming in with tanks and armoured vehicles. Allan passed away on March 29, 1997.
