The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 221 NESBITT, John “Jack” WWII Jack was born in 1912 in on the farm to Walter Henry and Matilda Bathsheba. He completed high school and Business College in Estevan and worked as a shipper at Bienfait Coal Mine. He married Vera Virginia Enmark of Bienfait in September 1938 and took over the home farm. They moved to Estevan from Taylorton in September 1959. They had three children. Jack was in the Army from 1941 to 1946. He served in Canada, the United Kingdom and Northwest Europe during the Second World War and is a Dieppe Veteran. NESBITT, Richard Henry Perren “Dick” WWII Richard was born in 1919 to Walter and Matilda a few months after they moved to Estevan, so they took him to Frobisher to be christened in 1919. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1940. He was a pilot instructor in Saskatoon and later a pilot with 23 Squadron Coastal Command in Northern Ireland during the Second World War. He married Margaret MacNeil of North Battleford in 1942. They have three children. Richard is retired and lives in Edmonton. NEUMANN, Ewald KOREAN WAR Ewald was born on November 5, 1926 in the Ukraine to Adolph Ludwig and Maria (Kolke) and the family immigrated to Canada in 1927 to Openshaw (south of Oxbow and Glen Ewan). His siblings are Otto, Leo, Harold, Walter and Laura Freida. He attended school at Boscurvis, Bow and Mayflower Schools. At the age of sixteen he joined the Army and served in Korea. He joined the army three different times throughout his life. Interspersed with these times, he worked in lumber camps, mines, a foundry, and various farms. He now lives in Crocus Plains Villa in Weyburn.
