MUNRO, Charles Middleton WWII Charles was born on January 15, 1912 in Alameda, Saskatchewan to Jim and Isabella (Middleton). His siblings were Kenneth, Ray (died in infancy), Herbert and Jean. After his father died, they moved to Frobisher. Following his schooling in Frobisher, he worked in the Forgay Hardware and left Saskatchewan in 1938. He married an Eastern girl and lives in Peterborough, Ontario. They have a family, Donald, James and Lynda. He and his wife, Gladys, retired after he had worked for the Johnson Motors for forty years. Charles took part in the Second World War. MUNRO, G. Herbert WWII Herbert was born in Alameda, Saskatchewan in June 1914 to Jim and Isabella (Middleton). His siblings were Kenneth, Charles, Ray (who died in infancy) and Jean (born five days after the father passed away). Herbert’s father passed away from cancer in 1916. In 1918, the family moved to Frobisher from the farm which was eight miles north. He clerked for Bill Forgay in the hardware store and worked as a farm labourer or at whatever was available. He joined the services during the Second World War and following the war he returned home and farmed from 1947 to 1955. When the oil boom hit the Frobisher area, he quit farming and became a front end in Rudy Mayer’s Garage. Later, he sold insurance and worked for the Crop Insurance Board for several years. He married Edith Maier and they are retired in Frobisher.
