The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 213 MOORE, Walter R. WWII Walter was born on January 15, 1907 on a farm in Frobisher, Saskatchewan. He attended school at Mayflower, Frobisher and Alameda. Walter served in the Second World War. He was an electrician at Somme. He married Doris Johnson and they had two daughters, Patricia and Joy. The family lived on the West Coast. They moved back to Frobisher in 1955 and he worked for A. C. Duce then for Imperial Oil. He started up an electric shop. Walter passed away on April 16, 1957. MORRIS, Wilson WWII Wilson was born on January 1, 1917 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Albert Edward Morris, who had married a local girl but she died a year later of tuberculosis. Wilson’s father remarried mother from St. Paul where they all originated from. His siblings were Melville, Raymond, Everette and Gertrude. He took his schooling at Weir Hill School. The family homesteaded near Browning, SK. After Albert passed away in 1926, and his mother died, they went to Hartney, MB and Wilson worked on farms until he joined the Army in March 1941. He went overseas in October 1941 and on January 1, 1942 he met his future wife. They got married on September 19, 1942. In June 1943, he went to Africa and about six months later, he went to Italy driving a mail truck. After the war, he went back to Canada and worked on a farm until he started with C.P. Rail in October 1946. He had a family of three daughters: Carol, Sheila and Shirley. He resides in Frobisher and belongs to the Frobisher Legion. MORTON, John Leslie “Jack” WWII Jack was born on July 16, 1919 in Watson, Saskatchewan. He married Gladys Campbell of Frobisher in Saskatoon on December 5, 1945. Jack spent five years overseas during the Second World War. They lived briefly in Delisle before moving to Vancouver, British Columbia in February 1946. He retired in Qualicum Beach. Jack was an avid hunter and fisherman and unfortunately drowned on October 18, 1996.
