The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 201 McNEICE, James Edward WWI James was born in Tregarva, Saskatchewan on July 24, 1895. James was a school teacher in Craik, SK prior to enlisting in the Army on December 29, 1915 in Regina. He served with the 28th Battalion during the First World War. On July 1, 1918 he became severely ill with Bronchial Pneumonia. He died four days later on July 5, 1918. He is buried at Sainte-Hilaire Cemetery extension in Frevent, France. McNEICE, Thomas George WWI Thomas was born on January 9, 1897 in Lumsden, Saskatchewan. He was working as a Bank Clerk in Lumsden when he enlisted in the Army on November 15, 1915. Thomas served with the 68th and 16th Battalions during the First World War. On June 4, 1917 he obtained the rank of Lance Corporal which he retained until his discharge on January 10, 1919. He had earned a Good Conduct Medal. Upon his return he moved to Los Angeles at some point where he worked as a bookkeeper for a lumber company. He passed away on April 9, 1936 at 16:05 due to heart complications. He is buried at the Sunnyside Cemetery in Los Angeles, California. MEADOWS, Annie WWII Annie was a baby when her family immigrated from England to Canada in 1910. After several moves, the family relocated and settled in Frobisher, Saskatchewan. In 1927, Annie left to train in Moose Jaw General Hospital where she graduated in 1930. She contributed a great deal to her profession and to her patients both in Canada and overseas during the Second World War. She spent about six years in the Army Medical Corps during which time she served in Canada, Holland, Belgium, France and Germany.
