The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 195 McCUTCHEON, Frederick David WWI Frederick was born in Gainsborough, Saskatchewan on March 29, 1897. He joined the Army and served with the 1st Saskatchewan Depot Battalion during the First World War. He was drafted in Saskatoon on October 27, 1917. Frederick was demobilized in January 1919. McCUTCHEON, Smith RCMP Smith was born in 1912 to Joe and Tena (Clarks) in Frobisher. His siblings were a twin brother Clark and another brother Joe. Smith joined the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and in 1939 went overseas as an RCMP Provost. As part of their motorcycle squad, he paid a heavy price in the loss of one leg. He worked for many years with the Department of Veterans’ Welfare in Toronto. He and his wife Edna live in Oakville. They have two daughters and one son. McCUTCHEON, William WWI William was born in Creemore, Ontario on May 10, 1883. Living in Weyburn, he was working as a bricklayer upon enlistment as well as active with the 20th Border Horse Militia. He enlisted in the Army and served with the Canadian Engineers during the First World War. Corporal McCutcheon died on June 26, 1917 of wounds received in combat in France. He is buried at Barlin Communal Cemetery near Béthune, France.
