The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 189 MacFARLANE, Matthew Alexander PEACETIME Matthew is currently serving in the Air Force as Air Traffic Controller with 15 Wing. MacKAY, George Melbourne WWI George was born in Toronto, Ontario on February 6, 1889. He was the second son of Adam and Isabell. Isabell (Stewart), his mother, died in 1892. He was lived in Estevan, Saskatchewan working as an engineer. He enlisted in the Army on November 18, 1919. He served during the First World War with the 20th Battalion and 4th Battalion Canadian Infantry. On January 24, 1917 he was appointed to Lance Corporal. George was killed in action on April 9, 1917 at Vimy Ridge. He is buried at Bois-Carre British Cemetery in Thelus, France. MacKIE, David “Dave” David was born in Frobisher, Saskatchewan in 1908. He lived on a homestead just west of Frobisher with his parents. After the passing of his parents, Dave continued to live on the farm. He enjoyed travelling; he visited Scotland, England, Denmark, and also several places in British Columbia and the United States. Dave passed away on August 5, 1974 in the house where he was born, after having lived there for 66 years.
