The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 169 KESSLER, John Walter WWII John was born in Milestone, Saskatchewan on August 31, 1921. He served in the Air Force during the Second World War from 1941 to 1946, serving in Canada in Calgary and Halifax. After his return home to Assiniboia, SK, he ran a grocery store, a shoe store, and then was appointed by the Government of Saskatchewan as Deputy Sherriff and subsequently Sherriff of the Judicial Centres of Assiniboia Legion Branch 17 and served in many positions including Branch president. He was also an active member of the Knights of Columbus and served in many positions at the local and state level and the Kinsmen. He was married with three children. John passed away in 1996. KINCAID, Andrew Gordon WWII Andrew was born in Avonlea, Saskatchewan in 1920. He enlisted in the Army and served in Holland and England with the 6th Canadian Infantry Signal Corps during the Second World War. He went home on December 6, 1945 on the Queen Elizabeth. Andrew passed away in 1960. KINCAID, Robert James WWII Robert was born in Regina, Saskatchewan in 1914. He enlisted in the Army and served as a Private in the Saskatoon Light Infantry for three years during the Second World War. He mainly served in Italy. Robert went home on Troopship Nieuw from Amsterdam on September 29, 1945. He was a member of the Avonlea Legion Branch of The Royal Canadian Legion. Robert passed away in 1980.
