The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 121 GRAHAM, James Thomas PEACETIME James was born in 1952 in Melford, Saskatchewan. He enlisted in the Army and served with CTC Gagetown, 1 PPCLI, 4 Svc Battalion, CANLOG UNDOF, HQ UNDOF Syria and 7 CFSD in Canada, Germany, the Middle East and the Unites States during Peacetime. He was awarded the Canadian Forces Decoration 2, Special Service Medal (NATO), Canadian Peacekeeping Medal, UN Disengagement Observer Force (3) and USA Legion of Merit. James has been a member of Legion Branch 30 in Melford for 24 years. GRASSICK, Gordon “Greg” Greg was born in Regina, Saskatchewan on August 1, 1900. He served with the Royal Canadian Air Force. As a student, he played football at McGill University. Following his McGill years, he became an outstanding halfback and coach with the Regina Roughriders, playing from 1927 until 1932. During this time, the team went undefeated in Western Canada and made five appearances at the Grey Cup. Greg is credited with being instrumental in the introduction of the forward pass to Canadian football. GREBINSKI, Stanley Walter WWII Stanley was born in the small rural community of Beckenham, Saskatchewan in 1917. He was enrolled in the Canadian Army on July 16, 1942 at Regina, SK at the age of 23. He served in the Second World War from July 1942 to January 1946 when he was discharged from his duties as “Corporal/Private”. Stanley served to protect Canada’s North Western Shores and was stationed on the North West Coast to the Aleutian Islands. After his discharge, he returned to his Saskatchewan farm at West Bend/Kelleher, SK to his wife Rose Mary and his first born son. Stanley passed away on October 10, 1944 in Regina. He was a member of Legion Branch 1 in Regina for 28 years.
