The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 93 BEHRNS, Arnold G. WWII Arnold was born in 1919 in Abernethy SK. He enlisted with the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1942. He took a mechanics course and then served as a Flight Engineer in Canada and England until his discharge in October 1945. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Abernethy Branch 26. Arnold passed away in 1989. BEHRNS, Clara WWI Clara was born in Kent County, Morpouth, Ontario. She was a direct descendant of the famous American General Robert E. Lee. Upon graduation from nursing school in Grace Hospital in Detroit, Michigan in 1915, she joined the Army and was stationed at Camp Beauregard, Louisiana. Following the war, she moved to Abernethy, SK where she met and married James Behrns. Clara passed away on January 13, 1982. BERG, Leonard Freedolf Leonard was born December 2, 1908 in Macoun, SK to Otto and Josephine Berg. He was one of nine children born to the couple. He attended school in Macoun, and later worked as a farm labourer and miner. He and Agatha Kurkart of Estevan were married on July 16, 1954 and lived in Estevan. Leonard passed away on November 26, 1980.
