The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 73 ANDERSON, Robert A. “Bob” WWII Bob was born in 1920 in Kincaid, SK. He joined active service with the 60th Battery RCA at Aneroid, SK on July 24, 1940. He trained in Canada as a member of the 17th Field Regiment RCA and went overseas to England in November 1941. He took part in all Canadian Corps battles in Italy from Ortona to the Hitler Line. With a short stop in Belgium, the regiment went into action in Holland. At the cessation of hostilities he returned to Canada, having served his country to the utmost. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion for fifty-one years. Bob passed away in 1999. ANDREWS, Harvey Ross WWII Harvey was born in 1919 in Moosomin, SK. He enlisted with the Army in 1939. After basic training he was put in the R.C.E. and he became a Motorcycle instructor. In 1942 he was sent to the doctor because he had been limping; they discovered a hole in his heel and he was given a discharge. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatoon Branch for thirty years. Harvey passed away in 1985. ARMSTRONG, Allan WWII Allan was born in Macoun, SK, the son of Gordon and Martha Armstrong who owned the Armstrong & Co. General Store in Macoun until 1930. He volunteered for service and served overseas with the Royal Canadian Air Force.
