The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 67 AAMODT, Oliver Freeman WWII Oliver was born in 1921. He enlisted in the Canadian Army during the war and served in England and Continental Europe until his discharge. Oliver passed away in 2000. ADAMS, Charles M. WWII Charles was born in 1917 in Birch Hills, SK. He enlisted with the PA Volunteers in the spring of 1941. He served with the 7th Medium Artillery Regiment in Canada, Great Britain, France, Holland and Germany until his release in January of 1946. He received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp, 1939-1945 Star, France Germany Star, and the Defence Medal. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Birch Hills Branch 122 for thirty years. Charles passed away in 1977. ADAMSON, Herbert Stanley “Bert” WWI Bert was born in Croyden, London, England in 1896 to Thomas Bernard Adamson and Alice Sandall. He enlisted in the Army in 1916 and went to France during the First World War, but he served only six weeks before being wounded. He returned to Canada in 1918 and to Oxbow, SK in 1919. He enlisted in Estevan, SK on February 8, 1916 to join the Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Force assigned to the 152nd Overseas Battalion under Captain and Adjutant G.W. Hemmans. Bert was a lightweight battalion boxing champion. He applied for a homestead at Copeau, SK and a soldier’s grant. For a time, he was a special constable for the RCMP in Saskatoon delivering prisoners to the penitentiary, and was also guard of the jail. Herbert passed away in 1964.
