The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 439 WEIGHILL (EDWARDS), Monica Beryl Monica was born in London, England and resided in Hamworthy Junction, Poole, England before departing for Canada. She married F.C. Weighill, who was a Pilot Officer in the Royal Canadian Air Force, in January of 1942 in Christchurch, England. She departed Liverpool on January 6, 1943 on board the Stavanger Fjord with one child and arrived in Halifax, Nova Scotia where she boarded a train to her final destination, Davidson, Saskatchewan. WHEELER (EDWARDS), Bessie Bessie was born on October 11, 1921 in Carbonear, Newfoundland but spent her childhood at Corner Brook. She volunteered to help the war efforts in 1943 in Montreal. She travelled to Sydney, Nova Scotia by ship to work as a government inspector at RCA radio factory inspecting transmitters which were built there for shipment overseas during the war. After a year, she returned to Corner Brook and married Bill Wheeler, who was a Groundman in the Royal Canadian Air Force, on December 24, 1944. Bessie travelled by train to Estevan, Saskatchewan in 1945. To this union, they had six children. In the spring of 1947, they farmed land in the Browning area which they farmed until 1957 then moved to Willman, SK. Bessie now lives in Stoughton, SK and is 94 years old.
