The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 415 STEELE, Roy Roy was the son of Norman and Pansy (Penny) Steele who had a homestead south of Macoun, SK. Roy was a twin brother to Ray Steele and was one of five children. The Steele family left the farm and operated the telephone office in Macoun for a time. Roy and his brother and sisters attended the Macoun School. STEVENS, Alfred George WWII Alfred was born in Essex, London, England in 1908. He enlisted in the Army and served with 1st Corps Ammunition Park in England, Italy and Holland during the Second World War from January 15, 1940 to May 31, 1945. He drove an ammunition truck. Alfred was discharged on July 10, 1945. He was in the first contingent of the Canadian Forces to reach Great Britain. He was a member of Indian Head Legion Branch 114 for thirty-five years. Alfred passed away in 1992. STREET, Erwin James WWII Erwin was born in the Old Rocanville School District in Saskatchewan in 1916 to William Street and Olive Harrison. He joined the Army on May 15, 1942 and served in Canada, the United Kingdom, Continental Europe and North Pacific area during the Second World War. Lance Corporal Street was wounded and went missing in action in February 1945. Erwin was discharged on February 23, 1946. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Rocanville Branch 20 for over forty years. Erwin passed away in 1996.
