The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 399 REYNOLDS, Earl WWII Earl was born on May 7, 1923 on the farm south of Macoun, SK. He was one of the six children of Olive and Matt Reynolds. Earl joined the Royal Canadian Navy during the Second World War before completing high school and spent seven years in service. He married Connie Carter with whom he had seven children. Connie and Earl made their home in Victoria, British Columbia where they sold real estate. Earl passed away in 2001 in Victoria at the age of seventy-eight. REYNOLDS, James Kirk WWII James was born on the family farm in Macoun, SK on August 1, 1913 to Matthew and Olive Reynolds. He was one of six children. Kirk attended Omega, Thorson and Macoun schools, graduating as one of the first students with a full grade 12 from Macoun High School. He worked with his father in the family farm implement business. At the same time, Kirk was busy as a community volunteer with the Boy Scouts, United Church Sunday School, Macoun Young Peoples and the Macoun Community Club. In 1935, Kirk enrolled in the Moose Jaw Normal School and started his teaching career. At the school, he also met his future wife, Verness whom he married on August 17, 1940. They had two children. Kirk enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force and served with them for two years during the war. After the war, Kirk returned to teaching and spent 1945 to 1974 in Melville, SK as a teacher and principal. In 1945, he married his second wife in Saskatchewan. James passed away on June 17, 1997 in Weyburn, SK at the age of eighty-three. REYNOLDS, Robert “Bob” Robert was born on September 2, 1916 to Matthew and Olive Reynolds, on the family farm near Macoun, SK. He attended Omega, Thorson and Macoun Schools, graduating from Macoun High School. Robert worked at various occupations, first with his father in the family business, on a farm, and then with various oil companies in the area and in Toronto. Pauline, his wife, and Robert made their home in Rexdale, Ontario and had three children.
