The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 397 REA, William Thomas WWI William was born in Kempsey, Worcestershire, England in 1887. He joined the 44th Battalion, Canadian Infantry and served in France on the Western Front as a dog handler for messenger dogs on the front line during the First World War. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Flaxcombe Branch 98. William passed away in 1975. REID, George Emerson WWII George was born in Rocanville, SK in 1922. He enlisted in the Navy in Saskatoon in 1940 and became Stoker 1st Class. The missions that George was involved in were primarily on the Canadian east coast during the Second World War. George received his honourable discharge in 1945. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Rocanville Branch 20 for fifty-five years before he passed away in 2001. RENAULD, Edgar Eugene G. WWII Edgar was born in Parkman, SK in 1915. He joined the Army in July 1940 and spent two and a half years in the Royal Canadian Air Force during the Second World War; two of these years were in England. He was released in 1946 and returned to Parkman to help his father farm and later farmed on his own. Edgar married Jean Cudmore and raised sons John and Patrick. He farmed and worked in the oil patch as a battery operator. His hobbies were woodworking, stone polishing, making jewelry, curling, flying his own airplane and growing flowers. He loved to give away flowers. He grew many gladioli and gave them away at hospitals and to shut-ins, as well as to the church on Sundays. When Edgar retired, he helped Jean with her quilting, cutting the blocks and later machine quilting. Edgar passed away in 2002.
