The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 393 POTT, John Bernard RCMP John was born in Woodmore District, Manitoba on February 10, 1939. He joined the RCMP on August 13, 1957 and retired on August 13, 1992 at the rank of Superintendent. After training in Rockcliffe, Ontario, he was posted to numerous duties and locations in Saskatchewan, Ontario, Yukon and British Columbia. He was awarded the RCMP Long Service Medal with Gold Clasp and Star and the Queen’s Silver Jubilee Medal. After retirement, he became heavily involved with The Royal Canadian Legion at all levels. He was Provincial President from 2007 to 2009. He was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal and Palm Leaf as well as the Queen’s Golden Jubilee and Diamond Jubilee Medals. He is a Life Member of Carlyle Branch 248 and the RCMP Heritage Centre. POTTS, William WWII William was born in 1915 in Woodrow, SK. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps and served in Europe until his discharge. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Big River Branch 136 for fifty-four years. William passed away in 2003. PRUDEN, James Joseph “Jim” WWII Jim was born in 1924 in Big River, SK. He enlisted in the Canadian Army and served with the Black Watch Regiment until he was killed in action in France on July 25, 1944 at the age of twenty. He is buried in Bretteville-sur-Laize Canadian War Cemetery in France.
