The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 389 PICKERSGILL, George WWII George was born on October 16, 1904 in Keyes, Manitoba. He enlisted with the Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders on October 30, 1942. He served in Canada and England as a Brengun Driver and was wounded in Normandy until he received his discharge on March 8, 1946. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Arborfield Branch until 1975 when he transferred to Summerland, BC. George passed away in 1977. PICKERSGILL, Jim WWII Jim was born in 1909 in Keyes, Manitoba. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force in March 1940 and served as a Mechanic in Canada and the United States until his discharge on November 1, 1945. After the war, he moved to the USA to work in Aircraft Production and he retired in Portland. Jim passed away in 1993. PINNING, James William James was born in Manitoba on May 27, 1920 to Herbert and Lucy Pinning. He enlisted in the Canadian Army and was stationed in Quebec. He married Ella Emilia Zohner, daughter of Mrs. A. Zohner of Viewfield on December 21, 1943. Dale Van Horne was his groomsman. They had two children, Judy and Joan. James passed away on November 12, 2009.
