The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 387 PHILIPS, Kitty WWII Kitty was born in 1916 in Wales. She came to Canada with her family after her father received land from the Soldier Settlement Board. On February 4, 1943, she enlisted in the Canadian Women’s Army Corps CMHQ, 42 Coy, doing clerical work and served in Canada and England until her discharge in 1946. She married in 1949 and moved to Medicine Hat, AB. Kitty passed away in 1987. PHILLIPS, Nora WWII Nora was born in 1924 in Wales. She came to Canada with her family, after her father received land from the Soldier Settlement Board. She enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force on November 11, 1942 and served as a Wireless Operator in Canada until her discharge on September 12, 1945. She married in 1948 and moved to Victoria, BC. Nora passed away on August 27, 2007. PICK, Richard Arthur “Dick” WWII Richard was born on April 20, 1920 to John B. and Jessie Pick. He attended Dewey School, south of Midale and Macoun School for high school. In 1941, Richard joined the Royal Canadian Air Force during the Second World War. He returned to the farm after the war but also worked at various locations in the United States. In 1953, Richard began work in the local oil field. He married Jean Johnston (Eide) in 1957 and they raised five children. Richard passed away on June 19, 1973.
