The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 359 NICOL, Robert Ainsley WWII Ainsley was born in 1919 in Whitewood, SK. He enlisted in the Army in February 1941 and joined the 44th Field Battery, RCA, part of the 13th Field Regiment. He served in France, Belgium, Holland and Germany until his discharge in 1945 with the rank of Sergeant. He was a Life Member of The Royal Canadian Legion Whitewood Branch 87 for fifty-five years. Ainsley passed away in 2004. NIXON, Sydney Clarke WWII Sydney was born in 1920. He enlisted in the Army in Dundurn, SK and trained in Regina, SK during the Second World War. At some point, he was sent to New Brunswick, where it was discovered, on the shooting range, that he was blind in his left eye. Sydney was discharged in 1943 due to medical reasons. He passed away in 2007. NORBY, William WWII William was born on January 6, 1909 in North Dakota, USA. He enlisted in the Army on February 14, 1941 and served in Canada and Europe until his discharge on March 5, 1946. William passed away on June 11, 1993.
