The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 355 NESSET, Robert Mervin WWII Robert volunteered for service in the Canadian Army in 1940 and served in active duty in 1941-1942 as a Rifleman RCEME and as a Dispatch Rider. He served with the Canadian Corps in England, France, Italy, Holland, Belgium and Germany until his discharge in January 1946 with the rank of Private. After the war, he returned to Sheho, SK and worked as a Police Guard at Guelph Reformatory in Ontario. Robert passed away in 1977. NEUMAN, Carl Carl joined the Army, serving as Private in Sicily and Italy where he was wounded three times. He went home to Macoun, SK for a short time and then went on to British Columbia for further medical treatment. Carl married while serving overseas. NEWELL, Dick WWI Dick was born in Ballinasloe County, Galway, Ireland. He went to Canada with his brothers and took up a homestead in the Jordan River, BC area. He enlisted in the Army at the start of the First World War and was killed in action overseas in September 1916.
